About the RoundTable
Our Mission is to Support and Promote Quality Mentoring In Clark County. Guided by our mission, the RoundTable serves as our community's "mentoring central," providing support and resources to local mentoring programs. Our aim is to minimize duplication of effort by bringing together mentoring providers and others to share resources and coordinate recruitment, public awareness and training activities.
Our Goals:
In support of our mission the Mentoring RoundTable works on four key goals:
1. New resources. Increase the public/private resources that are dedicated to mentoring.
2. Efficient and quality mentoring. Ensure quality standards in all mentoring programs.
3. More mentors. Ensure there are enough mentors and quality mentoring programs to meet the community need.
4. A higher profile for mentoring. Increase the public's awareness of the benefits of mentoring, the need for mentors, and the work of local mentoring programs. These key goals form the foundation of our work.
Our Membership
Our membership plans and carries out the work of the RoundTable. Membership is drawn from local mentoring programs and other community organizations that support mentoring. This group of dedicated folks carry out a range of activities each year that advance the RoundTable's goals. Limited staff and funding support for the RoundTable is provided by Washington State Mentors and the Clark County Department of Community Services/Substance Abuse Prevention Program. The local Prevention Program is funded by DSHS/Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse. The Division has made a substantial commitment to mentoring to address youth substance abuse.
