GOAL/MISSION: Improve the quality of life of young people in our community by providing a series of instructional equine classes that challenge and build on each individual’s strengths and weaknesses building:
respect, confidence, self-esteem, independence, acceptance, and patience
WHO IS MENTORED?
Children from the ages of 10-18.

CURRENT NUMBER OF MENTORS/MENTEES:
Currently in the Vancouver area we have approximately 8 volunteers

WHO CAN MENTOR?
Anyone with experience in handling horses and working with children. Must be at least 17 years old.

TRAINING REQUIRED:
Silver Buckle to provide short course on safety and general horsemanship.

TIME COMMITMENT RQUIRED: 2 hours per week for each session (1st session 10 weeks, 2nd and 3rd session 13 weeks.) May volunteer for the entire 36 week session
